Experienced
Our set list is curated to please the discerning listener, and we pride ourselves on the breadth of our repertoire, ensuring that you don't hear inferior music between great songs. We enjoy playing music together, and make the most of our performance time by packing in songs, and taking short, ascetic breaks between sets.

Attentive To Detail
Inna Rude Mood takes the time to actually learn faithful, if irreverent, renditions of songs. We don’t just learn the chord changes in the car on the way to the gig. Our lead guitarist has perfected such spot-on digital representations of those signature lead guitar settings, you will think it's the original.

PracticalWe know music fans don't like getting blasted by loudspeakers or drummers who think they're playing at Staples Center. Our Bose sound system separates instruments and voices, creating a higher-acuity mix rather than just a hot mess, and our drummer dearly wants to protect his hearing.

"Do YOU Know Who We Are?"
Scott Carlson
Lead Guitar and Vocals
Scott has been playing guitar since he was 12. He uses an assortment of shiny guitars and Line 6 Variax stuff in a variety of imposing boxes to achieve a rich diversity of tones from 12-string guitar to banjo. Scott is a native of Massachusetts who first learned how to say his Rs at the age of 22 when he moved to California. |
Maggi Hall Messina
Bass, Keyboard, and Vocals
Maggi played piano as a child, and added bass guitar after she joined Inna Rude Mood. Her abiding interest in higher education led her to study classical voice and become an official choir nerd performing across the U.S. and in Europe. In her spare time, she works, skis, speaks foreign languages, and studies some more. |
Ruben De La Rosa
Drums and Vocals
Ruben has been playing drums since middle school math class. An R&B fan to the core, he has seen Tower Of Power live over a dozen times and can recite the lyrics to almost any funk song. Ruben can truthfully claim to be the quietest drummer in his condo complex, and hails all the way from Oxnard, a city as beautiful as its name. |
Alan HokomLead Vocals, Guitar, Bass
Alan is a graduate of Berklee College of Music and is now working to pay off his impressive collection of student loans. He began his musical life as a middle school band geek, and moved on to rock and roll when he discovered that's where the girls were. Alan moonlights as a sound guy and daylights as an acoustic guitar maker. |
