Inna Rude Mood: Band

Legends. Icons. Idols. These are words used to describe those rare bands that have been adored for a lifetime and immortalized as distinct creators of rock and roll. These reverent words don't apply to Inna Rude Mood! However, they do apply to the bands who wrote the songs that Inna Rude Mood covers. Inna Rude Mood formed in 2000 as a boogie-to-the-max power trio fronted by two lead singers. They consistently deliver the best songs that classic rock, up-tempo blues and funk have to offer. Until 2005, the band also performed as Rude Mood, a tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble. Today, Inna Rude Mood reflects the fun-loving spirit of the roadhouses dotting Highway 1 near their home base of Ventura, California. With an unstoppable passion for performing great music and an unyielding appreciation for their fans, there are no limits to how much you can enjoy an Inna Rude Mood performance.

Maggi Hall - Bass & Vocal

Maggi is the Beauty in the band. She's one hot chick that rocks as hard as any male who ever picked up the bass guitar and belted out a few tunes [with the exception of Lemmy Kilmeister of Motorhead; but what's up with his hairy facial mole; can't they remove that thing that's starting to look like a second nose?]. Any Neaderthal in the vicinity of Ventura California who believes that woman have no place in rock music, needs to check out Maggi. Not only can she sing across three octaves, but she can do it all while still holding down the bottom end with her pumping bass guitar. Raised in La Cresenta, California, she began playing piano at age 9 and performed with garage bands in her teens. After earning an MBA and climbing the corporate ladder to success, she found that the ladder was leaning against the wrong wall. In addition to starting a family with some great kids (especially her husband), she learned bass guitar to form Inna Rude Mood with Scott and Ruben. Although her children grow older and mature further, Maggi remains stuck with the Beavis & Butthead humor of the boys in the band. Also, since Scott has about as much vocal range as Johnny Cash with a sore throat, it falls upon Maggi to belt out rockers originally sung by Axl Rose, Brian Johnson, Freddie Mercury, Robert Plant and Bono. Although she maintains a girlish figure, Maggi carries a lot of weight in the band and proves that chicks can rattle their ovaries just as hard as any guy can rock his whatever.

Ruben De La Rosa - Drum Kit & Vocal

As a kid, Ruben de la Rosa always knew that he wanted to play the drums, though he didn't start playing until he was 19.  Ruben's drumming styles are influenced primarily by the music he grew up listening to including Earth, Wind and Fire, Tower of Power, and James Brown.  Completely self-taught, Ruben likes to play in any musical genre, and has played in a variety of bands mostly in the Ventura County area.  "I like to keep the groove danceable and funky," he says.  His favorite drummers include David Garibaldi, Buddy Rich, and John Bonham.  Born and raised in Oxnard, Ruben has performed all over California.  Ruben always keeps the beat in the pocket, and he plays with a sense of restraint that the band sometimes takes for granted until a guest drummer sits in, smacks the heck out of the drums, and fills all the empty space with Neil Peartisms. Ruben brings the funk, and he belts it out too whenever it's time to play the funky music.

Scott Carlson - Guitar & Vocal

If Maggi is the Beauty, then Scott must be the Beast. He plays old-school blues-rock in the style of his influences, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix and Billy Gibbons. His vocal style is a cross between George Thorogood and a bleating goat. He grew up in Beverly, Massachusetts; a town so small that they taught Driver's and Sex Education in the same car. Scott has been playing the devil's music ever since a nun taught him to finger a G string when he was 13. He enjoys applying the questionable linguistic skills he developed in law school to alter song lyrics whenever he feels like it. Scott's a recovering analog-tone addict with boutique tube amplifiers, stompboxes and guitars scattered throughout his house. Yet for shows, he has embraced the new flexibility of digital modeling technology pioneered by Line6 and Bose. This state-of-the-art digital gear enables the trio to more accurately cover songs recorded with many more musicians and instruments. It's old school guitar style played through new school technology and ultimately makes the band's instrumentation sound much bigger than your typical trio.

Songlist - Performed by Inna Rude Mood

The songlist is the fourth band member because, frankly as a cover band, it defines Inna Rude Mood even more than the people playing bass, drums or guitar. You could hear one or more of the following tasty tunes at any band celebration.
