Who cares, there is definitely beer and lots of fun for the whole family when the town blocks off main street for a huge street fair. This is the night to check out the Palms, because after all the wannabe party people go home when the street fair shuts down, the real ones head to the Palms to get their groove on with IRM. Last year there was a line formed around the block with security tighter than the hippest Hollywood night spot. Get there early for dinner and hang out inside so you can make faces through the window at all the hapless souls standing in line on the sidewalk. Mark the date and don't be late!

Saint Patricks Day is so fun to celebrate at your favorite Irish bar that they fib a little and pretend that it comes twice each year. Kind of like Ruben's girlfriend, despite his best efforts. Anyway, come on down to celebrate with other drunks and soon even you will be convinced that it's really March 17, 2008.
IRM agreed to play a second gig at "It's All Good" this month upon special request of owner, Lisa. The first one of the month was already great fun, so why not try a second one a week later. If you haven't been to an IRM gig at a place that's not so much of a dive bar, than now is your second chance in August. Great clean, modern bar with excellent opportunity to see and be seen in the heart of Ventura's nightlife. One little piece of advice. If you even think you need to pee, get up and get in line as there is only one toilet for both men and women in this fine establishment.

IRM is once again trying out a new live music venue in downtown Ventura that is seeking the type of 40+ baby-boomer audience that IRM has been cateriing to for the past six years. The current owners of the happenin' Cafe Fiore and Westside Cellar restaurants have decided to try their hand at running a cool bar. What was once a dark dank dingy dive bar has now been spruced up--with floor to ceiling windows facing the sidewalk--to resemble the type of popular club that you trip over as you walk down State Street in Santa Barbara. The venue plans to feature bands on Friday night and karaoke on Saturday nights. The interior resembles IRM's familiar O'Leary's haunt and--with tons of flat screen tvs, a pool table, long bar, and outdoor smoking area--it's almost heaven on earth for the party hardy people. Come on down and do your part in the continued revitalization of downtown Ventura and support one more live music venue featuring the best of classic rock, blues and funk. Well, at least come support Scott's continual quest to book more and more gigs at venues within the same zip code area as his humble abode.
IRM has been asked to perform at Blue, a classy nightclub/restaurant down the street from The Canyon Club. IRM hasn't played at the venue for a few years as they have concentrated on gigs in West Ventura County (they are a lazy bunch of sods). It will be an early Friday night though with IRM rockin' the classics and then followed by DJ Shane catering to the late night ravers. Come check out this gig if you've only ever seen IRM perform in dusty clubs without much of a stage.
Ditch that office holiday shindig or family party early and get your Holiday Freak on at the Palms. You won't be sorry unless you really believe that Santa Claus keeps a list of naughty people and then gives them coal on Christmas. Check out the scene at downtown Ventura's latest hot spot. Park in the main parking structure and walk just beyond the Movie Theater to this great venue with outdoor seating, in-door dancing and world class drinks. This is IRM's second gig at this club and the first one was very well received. The place fills up quickly with the high foot traffic along Main Street and be careful when the "Borat" movie gets out as many of the "gypsy-like Borat movie patrons" stop into the club and try to pick everyone's pockets or drink wine fermented from Donkey urine while bragging that their sister is the number three prostitute in all of Ventura. No, maybe that was just a dream or a scene from some funny movie that we just watched.
Can you believe that it's already December? Well neither can we. How did we get in this sorry state of affairs anyway? Who cares if you missed the shopping opportunity of both Black Friday and CyberMonday. We still love you and encourage you to take all your hard-earned cash to O'Learys and party like there is no holiday shopping list. Remember that it's always better to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission. You can definitely get away with not buying any presents for anyone else for one year as they'll still have your gift and be expecting something. Just don't try to do it two years in a row as people are not always as stupid as you may think. What does this have to do with an IRM gig at O'Learys? We're not sure but we woke up this morning with a bad case of verbal diarhea.

The Mayor of Ventura is not inna rude mood and wants to show his appreciation for all the fine art talent in town. He's hosting an art awards show and Inna Rude Mood will provide the background music. Look for light blues from 6-6:45pm, awards presentation from 6:45-7:15 and then more tunes from 7:15-8pm. An early night and a quick paycheck endorsed by City Hall; it doesn't get much better than that. If you show up and think that the room is spinning, have no fear, the circular room spins at a slow rate and has been getting Sunday brunch goers seasick for years.
IRM's most reliable gig in Ventura has to be this friendly bar on the East side of town. The regulars are friendly, the bartenders are hot chicks and it's difficult to have a bad time unless you really work at it. IRM has consolidated it's 'Olearys Weekend' into one Saturday night gig and it's always a rockin' time.
This past year, IRM has become a favorite band of the Palms clientele. The owner has asked IRM to perform at their busiest night of the year, the evening of the Annual Avacado Festival. Why is this night different from all others asked the simple child? It just so happens to be the most packed night of the year at the Palms when the club hires bouncers like the Hollywood clubs to keep the lined up masses outside the door from bumrushing the venue. As the pros like to say while filming in the San Fernando Valley, come early and come often! No, that's not quite what they say but you get the picture, if you want to be sure to get into this gig, make sure that you show up before 9pm and wear something green in honor of the lovable avocado. Or, if you arrive late, the owner has assured us that topless women can move to the front of the line and can also bring one guest along with them. So at least you have that going for you.
IRM has recently added this excellent live music venue to it's monthly rotation of gigs. It's a funky little venue in downtown Ventura that features a light food menu, fine wines and interesting beers. While the band plays on a small stage at the rear of the club, there is dance floor inside and then a large patio to hang with friends. Some of Ventura's best bands regularly play at this intimate venue and you really can't go wrong by checking it out.
IRM is first act on a bill that features the Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band, Saturday Night Special. Howard Freiberg presents classic rock Fridays at The Drink Nightclub featuring live tributes to the best in rock every Friday night. The club has a state-of-the-art sound system, large dance floor, outdoor patio seating with smoking section and lots of parking. IRM will rock the joint from 9pm to 10:30pm with their tribute of a classic rock cover band and then hold on to your hats for the finest southern rock tribute to grace the galaxy.
IRM once again returns to the Palms to ply their rock & roll wares to the sweaty masses. Will you be among the ones having a fun time, or will you choose to remain home at your computer reading the descriptions of countless rock shows that you will never attend? Carpenteria has started the countdown to their massive Avocado Festival that will feature IRM performing at the best club in town, The Palms. Check out the band on this date as you have been warned that it's unlikely you will be able to get inside the venue on the night of Avacado Festival, unless of course you are a young female willing to show some skin to get in.

IRM has been rocking this Carpinteria landmark regularly for a couple of years. Great little beach town, friendly locals, kids are welcome, and the restuarant prices are kept low because YOU are the cook. The drinks are cold, the band is hot, the night is young, and you are not! Just kiddin'...
Alright, I'm not gonna sugarcoat this at all. O'Learys is struggling to attract the live music audience that they enjoyed in their hey day (right up to the time when they eliminated live music in 2005 and then moved the band near the front door). IRM has reduced it's gigs at O'Learys to only one gig per month but we're even having a tough time getting a good size crowd for that. If things don't start improving, the band will likely give up on East Ventura altogether and concentrate on downtown Ventura where the live music scene has picked up considerably. IRM is booked to perform at O'Learys through the end of this year and will continue to create some excitement at the club. Come on down and do your part, or don't be surprised when IRM focuses on other venues in 2007. The bar is a great place to hang with friends as it features two pool tables, dart boards, shuffleboard and more flat screen TVs than you could possibly view in one night. Also, the owners are friendly and hire the best bartenders in the business. We know it's a little awkward having the dance floor right in front of the front door, but we promise to keep the lights low and the alcohol flowing so you can dance like no ones watching (or is that, make love like you are being filmed?). We hope to see you there, as it could get awfully lonely with the Ventura Fair in full swing.

Because this is the last night before O'Learys closes for a few weeks of renovation and staff vacation. This is your last opportunity to spill beer on O'learys carpet before a new one is installed. Help the band ensure that the carpet is throughly trashed before it is sent off to parts unknown where it can never again experience the joy of looking up at O'learys' patrons (especially the skirted women).

Well, I can't think of any reason why they would. So join IRM as they celebrate Cinco De Mayo at their favorite Mexican Bar, O'learys.
Also, this happens to be the day that Ruben burst forth upon the world and there are sure to be some surprises throughout the evening for our little Birthday boy. Did someone say stripper? Join IRM at O'Learys to celebrate the start of Spring Break. Although we can't promise an organized wet t-shirt contest with prize money, you never know what's going to happen once the booze starts mixing with the broads.
Join IRM for a night on the town in downtown Ventura as the band helps to christen Franky's, Ventura's newest babyboomer club with a liquor license. Forget the meat market at Bombays, Franky's new owner managed Winchester Steak House for the past 7 years and believe us, he knows how to get prime meat in the door. It's an early night for the band (from 8:30-11:30pm), so don't wait too long to come on down and check out the new dance floor and full bar at Franky's (the place that used to be a health food restaurant and serve nothing stronger than carrot juice). Located across from Zoeys and down the street (towards the Mission) from Nicolbys.
Check out O'Learys on the hottest and most packed night of the year, the annual Saint Patrick's Day Blowout. Come early to see the Gold Coast Bagpipers blasting out your favorite bagpipe tunes at 7pm and 9pm. Then IRM plays from 8pm to 1am with a break at 9pm for the bagpipers to wail again. As always, the band has cooked up a few irish folk/punk tunes that are sure to make you want to drink more alcohol.
Well, here we come to another Saturday night at O'Learys. What to do, What to do? Well, for starters you can play pool, darts, or shuffleboard. You could watch all of the flat screen tvs from every conceivable seat angle in the joint. You could sit and watch IRM perform while playing pocket pool. Or you could get off your seat and onto your feel to dance to the timely tunes from those with the textured taste. (I think I borrowed that last line from David Lee Roth who said something of a similar nature during a Van Halen concert in the early 80s; wow, I wish these angel dust flashbacks would stop happening).
Start checking your closet for green clothing as the count-down to O'Learys Saint Patricks Day Blowout has officially started. Maggi is threatening to wear a bathing suit to this year's event, but let's hope that Ruben doesn't decide to sport his tiny gold grape smuggler suit that he picked up in Europe. Come on, no one wants to see that thing, do they?

Some might say that it's the only club in Carpenteria, but that would be looking at the glass as half-empty rather than IRM's half-full philoshopy on partying. This is the place to grill your own meat and how many restaurants will allow you to do that in plain site of other patrons?
