Can you believe that it's already December? Well neither can we. How did we get in this sorry state of affairs anyway? Who cares if you missed the shopping opportunity of both Black Friday and CyberMonday. We still love you and encourage you to take all your hard-earned cash to O'Learys and party like there is no holiday shopping list. Remember that it's always better to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission. You can definitely get away with not buying any presents for anyone else for one year as they'll still have your gift and be expecting something. Just don't try to do it two years in a row as people are not always as stupid as you may think. What does this have to do with an IRM gig at O'Learys? We're not sure but we woke up this morning with a bad case of verbal diarhea.

Crowne Plaza, Top of the Harbor Ballroom

The Mayor of Ventura is not inna rude mood and wants to show his appreciation for all the fine art talent in town. He's hosting an art awards show and Inna Rude Mood will provide the background music. Look for light blues from 6-6:45pm, awards presentation from 6:45-7:15 and then more tunes from 7:15-8pm. An early night and a quick paycheck endorsed by City Hall; it doesn't get much better than that. If you show up and think that the room is spinning, have no fear, the circular room spins at a slow rate and has been getting Sunday brunch goers seasick for years.

The regulars are friendly, the bartenders are hot chicks and it's difficult to have a bad time unless you really work at it. IRM has consolidated it's 'Olearys Weekend' into one Saturday night gig and it's always a rockin' time.

The Palms

This past year, IRM has become a favorite band of the Palms clientele. The owner has asked IRM to perform at their busiest night of the year, the evening of the Annual Avacado Festival. Why is this night different from all others asked the simple child? It just so happens to be the most packed night of the year at the Palms when the club hires bouncers like the Hollywood clubs to keep the lined up masses outside the door from bumrushing the venue. As the pros like to say while filming in the San Fernando Valley, come early and come often! No, that's not quite what they say but you get the picture, if you want to be sure to get into this gig, make sure that you show up before 9pm and wear something green in honor of the lovable avocado. Or, if you arrive late, the owner has assured us that topless women can move to the front of the line and can also bring one guest along with them. So at least you have that going for you.

Bernadette's On Main Street

IRM has recently added this excellent live music venue to it's monthly rotation of gigs. It's a funky little venue in downtown Ventura that features a light food menu, fine wines and interesting beers. While the band plays on a small stage at the rear of the club, there is dance floor inside and then a large patio to hang with friends. Some of Ventura's best bands regularly play at this intimate venue and you really can't go wrong by checking it out.

The Drink

IRM is first act on a bill that features the Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band, Saturday Night Special. Howard Freiberg presents classic rock Fridays at The Drink Nightclub featuring live tributes to the best in rock every Friday night. The club has a state-of-the-art sound system, large dance floor, outdoor patio seating with smoking section and lots of parking. IRM will rock the joint from 9pm to 10:30pm with their tribute of a classic rock cover band and then hold on to your hats for the finest southern rock tribute to grace the galaxy.

Come on down to see IRM busking on the sidewalk of Ventura's historic Main Street in the middle of the downtown scene. This gig was added at the last minute when some other band flaked and it's supposed to feature 4 bands playing at various locations around downtown. Listen for IRM to be plying their acoustic wares on the corner of Main/California (under the auspices of the Bank Of California's ATM Machine). Come see what all the excitement is about the revitalized downtown area and help IRM give you an early kick in the pants at the start of your long Labor Day Weekend.

O'Learys Sidebar

Alright, I'm not gonna sugarcoat this at all. O'Learys is struggling to attract the live music audience that they enjoyed in their hey day (right up to the time when they eliminated live music in 2005 and then moved the band near the front door). IRM has reduced it's gigs at O'Learys to only one gig per month but we're even having a tough time getting a good size crowd for that. If things don't start improving, the band will likely give up on East Ventura altogether and concentrate on downtown Ventura where the live music scene has picked up considerably. IRM is booked to perform at O'Learys through the end of this year and will continue to create some excitement at the club. Come on down and do your part, or don't be surprised when IRM focuses on other venues in 2007. The bar is a great place to hang with friends as it features two pool tables, dart boards, shuffleboard and more flat screen TVs than you could possibly view in one night. Also, the owners are friendly and hire the best bartenders in the business. We know it's a little awkward having the dance floor right in front of the front door, but we promise to keep the lights low and the alcohol flowing so you can dance like no ones watching (or is that, make love like you are being filmed?). We hope to see you there, as it could get awfully lonely with the Ventura Fair in full swing.

But, I do know that like Saint Patricks Day, it's used all over the US as an excuse to run to your nearest pub and get snookered. Why would IRM ever want to buck such a fine tradition? Well, I can't think of any reason why they would. So join IRM as they celebrate Cinco De Mayo at their favorite Mexican Bar, O'learys.
Also, this happens to be the day that Ruben burst forth upon the world and there are sure to be some surprises throughout the evening for our little Birthday boy. Did someone say stripper? IRM is very excited to return to it's favorite East Ventura club, O'Learys; a place where it was the house band for the past few years until noise complaints from neighbors eliminated live entertainment at the bar. Since that time, the bar has upgraded it's air conditioning system and added more soundproofing. O'Leary's just received permission to feature entertainment that is one, two or three pieces, so IRM is back in business. The band resumes playing two night stands every month in October and hopes to attract the same large crowds who used to attend IRM nights at O'Learys. Band plays from 9pm to 1am.

IRM's drummer, Ruben, has a friend who is responsible for booking the entertainment at his wife's 40th Birthday and he has decided to exercise his authority to hire IRM. With such blatant nepotism, Ruben's friend is sure to lose the responsibility going forward for his wife's 50th Birthday Bash so the band will have to make sure that they do an especially good job at the gig. IRM returns to the hottest spot in Agoura Hills, BLUE. Plan an evening out to dine on fine foods and wine while enjoying the music from 7:30-11:00pm. (101 Freeway to Chesebro Road exit, turn right on Dorothy and right again on Lewis Road. OR 101 north to Chesebro Road, exit, go left over the freeway, then right on Dorothy and right on Lewis Road). Starting at 7:30pm, IRM plays a dinner set of tasty R&B followed by classic rock dance tunes and party anthems. A $5 dollar cover starts at 9:30, followed by a $10 cover at 10pm. The young crowd starts arriving before the cover charge kicks in to drink up before dancing to loud rave music from 11pm until well into the next day. Come early to get your groove on and skip the cover charge.

You have got to check out this venue if you don't go out much and wish there was a place in Ventura with a great wine list, free woodburned pizza and great ambience. The band sets up in front of Daryl the bartender (who enjoys his classic rock loud) where there is just enough room to dance or watch from booth seats with little tables. When you don't want to see the band, you can move to the outdoor area that features at least three large fireplaces where you can sit and feed logs to your heart's content. You'll want to drink wine here rather than beer, one of the reasons being that there is only one uni-sex toilet for everyone to share. This place is one of the best kept secrets in Ventura, especially on Wednesday nights where it's a great pickup scene for those looking for short but passionate relationships.

The first gig at this hoppin' club was so much fun that IRM had to return and see whether the same party people would show up again. The venue is wider than O'Learys and, with the pool tables in the back of the club, dancers and band watchers aren't in danger of getting poked by anything other than what they want to get poked with. As Ali G would say "Boo-ya-ca-sha!" Leave the kids and hassles at home to check out this hoppin' club.

The parents of the mighty Bantam White Team will be holding court in the bar and IRM will donate all money earned this evening for the team banquet. Private Party

The band is excited to provide the soundtrack to it's first Polterabend (ie, a beer-bust the evening before a German wedding where plates and dishes are smashed and the bride/groom have to clean everything up). Sounds like a wild time, however, if you are not on the guest list then you are not invited to drink vast quantities of german brew and watch women consume large Bratwursts. Who said you had to be German or getting married to hold your own Polterabend? No one, so go ahead and reserve the band for your own eve-of-the-wedding party before they get overbooked on the Polterabend circuit along with the traditional polka groups.

Ventura's July 4th Street Fair

Come check out Rude Mood's Stevie Ray Vaughan Tribute performance at Ventura's largest street fair. Main street will be blocked off and the band will play on a stage at the intersection of Palm/Santa Clara Streets (known as Food Court Stage). Come check out the SRV tribute and we'll also sneak in some of our original songs and sell the CD "We're Inna Rude Mood."
